Green tea is a beverage both refreshing and invigorating. It is also a real help slimming and a celebrity to stressful situations.
- The tea plant, or Camella Sinensis is a plant of the camellia family. The variety of teas is dependent on soil, climate and especially the method of preparation of the leaves. Green tea is produced from different plants, but results from specific preparation: green tea (tea or blank) is a tea “unprocessed” composed of leaves steamed and dried. Its nutritional properties are superior to those of processed tea.
- The green tea leaves are harvested young and should be dried quickly. If allowed to trigger fermentation, gives the black tea.

Variety of ways serving of green tea
- In infusion: drink several cups of green tea with every meal. To prepare, count 1 teaspoon of tea per person + another 1 teaspoon (for tea). Pour the boiling water just about tea and cover. Let steep for 3 to 5 minutes. You can consume between 5 and 10 cups per day.
- Alternatively, the capsules of green tea extract, to take again at mealtime.
- To take advantage of all its virtues, choose a quality tea, preferably organic. Prefer whole tea leaves, broken or crushed because they are often of better quality than tea bags.
Important to note
- Avoid drinking tea 2 hours before bedtime because of its stimulating effects and diuretic.
- Green tea containing caffeine, it should not be consumed during pregnancy and lactation, or in infants or children.
- Green tea may be advisable in all situations of prolonged stress: various diseases, psychological problems, recovery, environmental pollution (tobacco, air pollution …)…
- If green tea is a useful source of dietary antioxidants, it alone can claim to prevent the occurrence of certain diseases. Remember the rules of good diet and eat at least 5 fruits or vegetables per day!
