Myopia is an eye condition in which the patient can not see clearly in the distance. Occurs when the lens of the eye takes in too steep, and usually corrected with glasses, contact lenses or LASIK eye surgery.

Of the above treatments, what is the best?

Perhaps we should ask first: Why the eye suffered this damage? Can correct course? If we are not clear what the causes of this condition in the eye, then it is difficult to assess the options to correct it.

In general, both optometrists and ophthalmic surgeons to base their treatments on the assumption that this is a problem only eye, but … they are right?

The shape of the eye lens is based on the shape of the eyeball, which in turn is determined by the degree of tension in the muscles of the eye. In other words, if the eye muscles are very tight, they can “flatten” the eyeball, causing the eye’s lens becomes flatter than desirable.

Precisely for that is the action of the muscles of the eye: the contract, they increase the “zoom” to see objects closely, you can relax and focus on objects farther away.

Unable to relax the eye muscles, then the myopia is the result: Can not focus on distant objects. That is, the muscles of a healthy eye should be able to relax properly. Once knowing this, consider the above treatments:
Treatment for myopia .

The eye muscles are too tight all the time, unable to relax. The optometrist prescribed glasses that you are nothing to reverse the curvature lenses, so now if you can see in the distance … but the underlying problem (the muscles do not relax) is not resolved.

To think that a problem was solved, when in fact they are not often leads to its aggravation.
Treatment for myopia No. 2: Eye Surgery

Here the correction in the curvature of the eye’s natural lens is through surgery. It is assumed that the muscles are no longer going to relax. Run while the muscles may remain under stress.

But if you decide to implement a natural cure to unfasten these muscles, so far the effects of surgery will be counterproductive. Why not use the best natural solution from the beginning?
Treatment for myopia No. 3: natural vision correction

Myopia occurs mainly in young people, and interestingly, on young people who go through periods of great stress. An important clue what is happening is (as we saw above) the taut muscles of the eye affect the ideal curvature of the eyeball should have to function well.

It follows that, in reality, the origin of myopia is not physical. It manifests as a physical mismatch, yes, but its origin is in the mind and the poor handling of emotions and tension (stress).

From this point of view, then, a natural and permanent solution to the problem of myopia would be one that integrates both body and mind. There are exercises to release physical tension of the eye muscles (which we will review in a later article).

But even when you drag them out, if not resolved properly emotional situation that led to the accumulation of stress on that body part, the problem will persist.

Since contact lenses began to be used routinely, about 50 years ago, experts realized that myopes claimed to see better after taking them off. Thus arose the orthokeratology, a method of correcting myopia that modifies the curvature of the eye through the fluid between the cornea and lens. The problem was that no one could sleep with your lenses, so it was not very helpful to keep contact lenses during the day to not need them at night.

But in the twenty-first century have appeared hyperpermeable gas materials that allow the passage of oxygen to the eye during sleep. Thus, contact lenses Ortho-K is aa place to go to bed, hence also known as the lenses pajamas, and the goal is to see or the day without using anything. They are designed to be worn for eight hours, it is estimated that every day you’re sleeping.

The improvement in corneal surveyors also allowed to be designed in a personalized manner to each eye, so do not annoy the … used mostly by children even younger than 12 years, as there are studies that suggest that may help curb the progression of myopia. But also use ….athletes and professionals who need to see well without taking anythingor any person who is unable or unwilling to laser surgery.

The adjustment takes about three months, but from the first night is fixed between and one-half diopter. “If you have three diopters, will take at least a week before take off your glasses,” said Fernando Fernández-Velázquez, myopia center that bears his name. The main feature of these lenses in front of the laser operation is that the process is reversible. In fact, the treatment must continue for life, if you stop using them, the eye returns to its previous state in less than a month. In addition, the lenses do not reduce the thickness of the cornea, which does happen with láser.Orto-K serves up to six diopters of myopia and astigmatism two. The treatment costs between 800 and 1,000 €.

Despite all these innovations, the use of contact lenses still some limitations. For example, they can not use people who have dry eye. The symptoms of this problem are feeling of sand in the eyes, itching and excessive blinking. Attributable to environmental causes (heating, air conditioning, smoke, pollution), hormonal factors (birth control pills or menopause makes it worse), age or even stress. Even the use of computers dry eye, because blink less when we stare at a screen.

Also a bad use of makeup can cause problems in our eyes. Cosmetics often contain fatty substances that enter the eye and destabilize the tear film, altering the lens. José Antonio Aranda Muñoz, National College of Opticians-Optometrists of Spain, recommends using mild products and paint the stripe on the outside of the eye (if you do it on the inside covers the ductless glands). Get contact lenses before makeup and take them off before desmaquillarte.

Refractive state is opposite of hyperopia. Arguably, it is an excess in power or dioptric power of the eye’s own lens.

People with myopia have difficulty to focus on distant objects, while they can see close objects well. While not a major cause, can generate better known as headache or headaches in affected children.

Myopia is the visual pathology or disease more prevalent around the world. According to scientific sources, developed countries like the United States and Japan reached an expression of approximately 25% of the population in general.

The severity of myopia is measured in diopters. The diopter is the way to measure the power of a lens.

It is considered that myopia corrected with lenses larger than or equal to 6 diopters are high or severe. Besides the inconvenience caused in the vision, high myopia have increased risk for retinal detachment, glaucoma and other eye diseases.

The treatment of myopia include: correction with glasses or air, treatment with contact lenses, corrective treatment with intra-ocular lenses, surgery or refractive surgery.

The inability to see distant objects or short-sighted is a disorder of eye problems that many young people. Will worsen over time.
Myopia is caused by the lens of the eye is too convex or the eyeball is too long, so that the light rays into a focus before they reach the retina. Glasses with concave lenses can help correct vision, but they must be changed frequently as the condition deteriorates with age.

Nervous weakness and susceptibility to colds and constipation are the predisposing factors.

Myopia begins with blurred vision, especially in relation to distant objects. The display board or a home theater can become blurred and the eyes of the victim may start watering because of the strain.

There may also be itching, heaviness and a slight headache.

Myopia Natural Resources and Cures:

The first requirement before that treatment for myopia can begin to free the patient from cold and constipation, if he is suffering from these diseases. Triphala decoction should be taken internally and also used for washing the eyes at least twice a day.

If this regimen is continued for several months, myopia can be controlled. The best medicine for myopia is liquorice: a powder of the root of the plant should be given (half a teaspoon mixed with an equal amount of honey and half the amount of Ghee) twice daily with milk.

The dose should be given on an empty stomach.

The resources proposed for cataracts can also be tried in cases of myopia: the main objective is to strengthen the eyes.
Diet regime is the same as for cataract.

Myopia (nearsightedness)

A person suffering from myopia is known as short-sighted because it can see things up close but has drawbacks for distinguishing distant objects or images. Although myopia is usually mild and controllable disorder, severe myopia can trigger more serious eye problems and even cause blindness.

Symptoms of Myopia

Myopia is a refractive error type that usually presents in children aged between eight and twelve years old or so.
The telltale signs that a child may be nearsighted include forced vision, difficulty seeing objects at a distance and the fact of holding books or other objects near the face. Sometimes a person with myopia may have headaches or eyestrain from the effort necessary to concentrate the light.

Causes of Myopia

While there are many theories about behaviors that may trigger or worsen myopia, the medical community generally agrees that nearsightedness is an inherited trait.

People are myopic eyes with elongated or curved corneas steeper than those of the average person, this makes the light entering the eye focuses at a point that is ahead of the retina rather than on it.

This type of refractive error is more common in individuals who have a direct relative with the disorder.

Diagnosis of Myopia

Myopia can be easily diagnosed during a routine eye exam. In general, a visual acuity test combined with a refractive evaluation can not only identify nearsightedness, but can also determine the degree of myopia.

The visual acuity test consists of reading a special table at a specific distance.

Depending on how well you can read the table the patient, the physician may determine the degree of sharpness of vision. During an evaluation of refraction, the patient is asked to look through a device known as the eye changes refractor lenses and the patient asks questions.

This allows the practitioner to determine the most effective strength to correct the patient’s vision.

Moderate to severe myopia

Without the aid of corrective lenses, it is possible for people with moderate or severe myopia can only see objects that are within a few inches from his face. Degenerative myopia, a rare disorder in which the eye is stretched beyond the normal range, can trigger various complications.

These include: stretching and thinning of the outer shell of the eye (or sclerotic), retinal detachment, macular degeneration, increased likelihood of cataracts and even glaucoma.

Degree of nearsightedness

The diopter is the unit used to measure the power of a lens. Can also be used to describe the degree of myopia than one person. A person with myopia have a prescription of -3.0 diopters or less.

It is considered that an individual with a degree of myopia range between -3.0 and -6.0 diopters is a moderate myopic. Values in excess of -6.0 diopters are considered serious. The degree of myopia of a person affect their ability to undergo procedures such as LASIK and PRK.

Contact an ophthalmologist to schedule an eye exam

For more information on myopia or whether you or your child is nearsighted, see your local eye doctor. Even severe myopia can be controlled if detected early. Use our directory to find an ophthalmologist in your area.
